Welcome
We understand that one of the main concerns when going away, is who is going to look after your beloved pets? We have been there ourselves, this was the inspiration to set up The Small Pet Inn.
Throughout our lives, we have always had an array of pets, our love for animals has only grown over the years.
Going on holiday has always been filled with mixed emotions, as excited as we were to be heading away on our travels, we found ourselves filled with sadness and apprehension at the thought of leaving our beloved pets in the care of others.
Established in 2021, we have purpose built accommodation in secure premises, with a large enclosed garden.
We have both indoor and outdoor accommodation for rabbits and guinea pigs, and indoor space for hamsters, rats, chinchillas, bords & reptiles.
Fully vet checked, qualified in Animal Care Level 2, DBS checked and approved by local charities Waggy Tails & Mandy's Rescue a Guinea Pig - Dorset.
We welcome visits before securing a booking and enjoy discussing your pets and their individual quirks.
We currently have the pleasure of living with;
Peanut - our roborovski dwarf hamster, she was rehomed through the RSPCA and can often be heard foraging around her enclosure or running on her wheel.
9 guinea pigs (all adopted / failed fosters) - Chestnut, Harriet, Bumble. Honey, Cinnamon, Amber, Bee, Luna & Flora. You usually hear these girls before you see them, especially if the fridge door has been opened!
Georgie - our Hermann's tortoise, she has been in our family for around 18 years now. You'll find her sunbathing in the garden, eating fresh weeds and watching who comes in and out of her garden.
Minnie - our rescue dog, she is 9 years old and is brilliant with all animals, she has been around them since she was very small.
Please be assured, although our own animals are very used to dogs, we know most small pets are not. Therefore, Minnie is never around guests in our care.
